WELCOME TO
Peru

As the first pit stop along our 6-month journey we had high hopes for Peru, and wow to say the least those expectations were blown out of the water. From hiking one of the 7 wonders of the world, mountain biking down steep terrain with Alpacas, to exploring Incan ruins and then surfing the longest wave in the world, Peru was packed full of adventure. From a lack of planning, we ended up going from sea level to 16,000ft back down to sea level and then back to the mountains in Argentina and it took a toll on our bodies, but the fact that we crossed off 2 bucket list items and can now call ourselves “surfers” made it worth it in every way.

We spent 2-weeks in Peru traveling through the diverse country and broke our trip into 3 mains segments: Machu Picchu, Cusco, and Chicama. For us the two highlights and bucket list items we absolutely had to see were Machu Picchu and Chicama, which is well known for being the longest surf wave in the world (4km on the best days).

The Stories

How We Did It

TBD:

During our stay, we were able to experience a plethora of activities, food, accommodation, drives, excursions, (some touristy stuff), and met a number of people along the way that helped make our experiences - wonderful.  Here are some guides that give insight into our trip, but also offer some ideas around where to stay, what to do, where to eat and in many cases some contacts to folks we know will enhance your adventure
